The next best thing to riding !
It rained sunday afternoon, as a result the 4.45 MOUNTED lesson was cancelled. It was really a little funny, me and dawn saw sandra coming out of the office and i asked " Is the lesson cancelled ?" she replied " You wish ah ! " i quickly fumbled a reply that i had just said it as a cancelled lesson was the worse case scenario. So anyway we were going to watch the farrier work on Hank , he was supposed to apply a poultice. Hank's feet looked quite well terrible, he's flat-footed, normally a horse's hoof in concave, but his was completely flat. He couldn;t even be shod! and he was bruised there so the farrier showed us how to apply a hot poultice. Dipped the poultice bandage in hot water and put it on top of the hoof and bandaged it up, it was to be changed daily.
Later, after the lesson, the 5.30 lesson didn;t go out as well so sandra was teaching them about feed. All the feed was in the buckets, chaff and bran. They have PINK electrolytes ! strawberry flavoured ! then i followed them to go and feed the horses hay. We pushed a trolley along to feed them we were GODs to them !!! all soo impatient to get their feed ! we wher like soo powerful ! I got to feed biscuit boy hay since he;s my fave. It;s sooo satisfying to see them eat...... but we left a " trail of destruction " in the yard !! hahahah hay everywhere !!
