Riding today was better than i expected. I was on penelope, i thought Shit she;s gonna be a real handful, but surprising i was wrong. She started out ok, then tried to turn in but i PUSHED her out she went out onto the track again and went like an angel. We did trotting poles and then cantering. Dawn was on " pocket-sized " patch ! i think patch is 12 something hands ! that's sooo small compared with penelope who's like supposed to be 14hh !!
The first canter i got was waaay fast i was off the track and going into the middle. So i got that pony out and we got the canter again but on the wrong leg. It felt quite wierd lah..... so i had change got the correct leg and half-halt halft-halt slowed her down nice and steady..... It wasn't that difficult surprisingly......
After the lesson we all went for a hack on the heath track damn fun !!! i haven't gone out for a hack in ages !! me and dawn talked for for a while and she was sooo surprised that the bangkok trip was just 2 weeks away ! that's right 2 weeks ! can't wait
Towards the end of the heath track patch started giving penelope the " evil eye " i steered cleared of patch but i could feel penelope coiling up like spring....... ready to bolt or spook or whatever. Probably cos patch was starting to kick and buck...... i certainly didn;t want penelope to try and dash out on the road !! hello !!! traffic !!! so i kept steering her toward the heath track..... finally she calmed down and i lead her across safely.
Sandra asked me, dawn and surina to lead 3 riders from the next lesson for a walk on the heath track cos she had to change a saddle . So i led sONNY, dawn lead patch. The ride was quite ok, like leading a pony ride a bit !! Finally we handed the riders over to sandra, patch refused to go up to slope to the arenas...... naughtly girl she ALWAYS takes advantage of kid riders ! needs bigger sized riders like me and dawn to tell her who;s boss !
