For some reason, the last two lessons, horses have been good to me ( well in the walk and trot anyway )
I had smint on tues, he was surprisingly good when i got on him to start warming up. He actually did everything i asked him to do and even was nicely rounded and collected for the most part of the lesson. Except that the pace was a little slow. As well as little fits of rage he kept throwing at me when i asked him to do something non-textbook or orthodox like suddenly turning a 10m circle into a turn to the track on the opposite side. He would swing his quarter violently to the side and buck or just stop and buck. Either way he would be rewarded with a tight slap from my pathetic, tassleless,handicapped-looking, cane-for-the-blind looking white whip as well as a good shove in the ribs.
Other than that ( except the canter ) he was a complete angel.
In the canter, he tried a skip-t0-my-lou, neither-here-nor-there canter which was sooo annoying. He refused to canter properly for long stretches at a time. In the end i never did get him to canter properly for one full 20m circle. The skip-to-my-lou canter reigned supreme, and failed to please the rider and instructor.
